AMHERST – Lorraine Alice Hamilton of Amherst, New Hampshire, Beach Haven, New Jersey and Rancho Mirage, California died June 14, 2020 from pancreatic cancer at her home in California. She was 73 years old and a participant in the trial of a new cancer drug at NYU Langone in New York City since April 2019. She hoped that results from the trial would improve care for other patients who develop this cancer. She was with her family when she died and was

Daland Library Project Awarded $655,000 Matching Grant
The Infrastructure and Capacity Building Challenge Grant will support building a modern, accessible 7,600 square foot library for the town of Mont Vernon. The new facility will replace the current 1,200 square foot 1909 building.

Significant Collection of Glass Donated to PEM on Display
SALEM, MA – Peabody Essex Museum has received a generous and inspiring gift from New York-based philanthropists, Betty and Carl Pforzhiemer. A collection of over 200 works of international studio glass and 40 pieces of historic European and American glass.

SAU#39 Board Names Interim Superintendent for All Schools
Current Assistant Superintendent Steven Chamberlin will assume the role of Interim Superintendent on June 10, and serve in that capacity until June 30, 2023. Prior to joining SAU #39, Mr. Chamberlin worked for the Hopkinton, NH School District for over 22 years in various administrative roles.

5K ROAD RACE
Lions Roar 5k Race and Family Fun Day, June 11th
This event is designed as a fast course to get runners ready for future summer racing events. The race course starts on Church Street by the town green, loops through several back roads and ends at the green. It is open to individuals aged 13 and over.
